Maria Kurochkina
With a mesmerizing voice that captivates audiences worldwide, Russian soprano Mariia Kurochkina embodies the essence of operatic brilliance, delivering powerful performances that leave an indelible mark on the soul. In 2011, she graduated from the Tchaikovsky Musical College in Ekaterinburg, Russia. Subsequently, in 2017, she completed her studies at the Mussorgsky State Conservatory, also in Ekaterinburg, Russia. Throughout her professional career, Mariia has actively participated in numerous prestigious projects, competitions, festivals, and masterclasses.
Notable highlights include the ‘Art-Vocal’ International Vocal Competition named after F. Tosti (Diploma, 2013), the ‘Siberia Lights Stars’ Contest-Festival (Gran Prix, 2015), ‘The Chinese Vocal Peafowl Award’ (First prize in solo nomination and Second in Duet, 2018), and the Marker and Pioneer International Exchange Centre (Third prize, 2022), Ningbo International Vocal Competition 2023 (finalist).
Mariia’s talent extends to the opera stage, where she has portrayed various compelling roles. Her repertoire includes memorable performances as Bastienna (Bastien and Bastienna), Norina (Don Pasquale), Luisa (Betrothal in the Monastery), Violeta (La Traviata), and Olympia (Les Contes d’Hoffmann).
In addition to her achievements in opera, Mariia Kurochkina extensive experience performing a diverse repertoire alongside piano, symphony, chamber, and folk orchestras.
In 2018, Mariia embarked on a new chapter in her career by joining the Kunming International Philharmonic (Kunming, China). During her tenure there, she had the privilege of collaborating with renowned musicians and conductors: Gaddiel Dombrowner, Ayyub Guliev, Arman Tigranyan, further enriching her artistic journey.
Since 2022, Mariia has embarked on an exciting collaboration with the Nine Trees Philharmonic (Shanghai, China). She has actively participated in several notable projects, including the Mid-Autumn Festival, collaboration with Maestro Muhai Tang (2022), Chen Xie Yang (2023), Baroque music concert (2023). In 2023 she also cooperated with Sichuan Symphony orchestra with maestro Mikhail Leontev, (Chengdu, China).
In 2023, Mariia took a significant step by developing her own solo concert programs titled “The Sounds of Music” and “Fantasy Aria.” This captivating programs was enthusiastically received by audiences across multiple cities in China, including Fuzhou, Xiamen, Nantong, Zhuhai, Jiaxing, Chongqing, etc.
